There are several reasons that you might be considering revoking access to your data feeds for one or more customers:
- You need to make updates to your taxonomy and need to remove all old Data Feeds
- You need to make updates to the cost structure or list price of existing Data Feeds
- A customer has been subscribed to a Data Feed for extended period of time with no spend reported. Data providers reserve the right to revoke access if this is the case
- You would no longer like to make your data available in Marketplace and need to delete all Data Feeds
There is an option available within the Seller seat of Audience Marketplace to revoke access to a feed by customer. This can be found in the My Shared Data tab under Current Customers. It is important to note that taking this action does not immediately remove your data from these customers instances and there is effort required by the customer to unsubscribe from these data feeds.
How to revoke access
Prior to revoking access to these data feeds, it is important to communicate your plans of revoking access to all existing customers. Proper communication prevents any surprises and complaints from the customers. If you do not have customer contact information for your customers, you can contact Technology Partner Program support.
You (the Data Provider) initiate the process by revoking access within the platform. This triggers an email notification that will be sent to all users of that data feed. The email will look like this:
Subject: “Subscription to [Data Provider Feed] is Canceled” from aam-noreply@adobe.com.
Body text:
Hello,
[Data Provider] has canceled your subscription to [Data Feed]. Contact the data provider if you have any questions. Click Request More Details in this data feed to create and send a message.
Click here to log in to Adobe Audience Manager.
This is an automated message. Contact your Adobe Audience Manager representative if you need further assistance.
Best,
— Audience Marketplace Team
The email will include an attachment called “list-of-affected-entities-by-feed-revocation.csv” and will include the below information:
The customer is then responsible for removing all Traits from this revoked feed from all Segments, even if those Segments are not currently being utilized in a live campaign. This also includes all algorithmic models. This can either be done manually through the platform, or as a bulk update by working with their Adobe Consultant.
Once all Traits have been removed from all Segments, the customer AAM Admin will need to go into the Marketplace UI, navigate to the relevant Data Feed, and unsubscribe from all active Plans, including Segments & Overlap. This can be accomplished be toggling the Subscription in the screenshot below to Off:
Then you (the Data Provider) will delete or edit this Data Feed once all Customers have unsubscribed. After Data Provider has made edits or created new Data Feeds, customers will be able to resubscribe to this Data Feed.
