Data Connectors are now DEPRECATED ☠️.
In the past, for many partners the best way to integrate with Adobe Analytics was via Data Connectors. However, that is no longer the case. Data Connectors have been decommissioned in favor of Adobe Experience Platform Launch extensions, integrations built using Adobe Analytics APIs, and eventually integrations with the Experience Cloud Platform.
Our product team has removed the tools that allow new Data Connectors to be created. That means no new Data Connectors or new versions of Data Connectors can be created. We can make small modifications to existing Data Connectors. If you are a partner with an existing Data Connector, you should rebuild your integration using the publicly available APIs. See this help article for more details on using the Adobe Analytics APIs in integrations. We recommend that all of our partners with existing Data Connectors review the article and begin building a replacement for their Data Connector integrations.
The Adobe Exchange will serve as the storefront for all Experience Cloud integrations including all new Adobe Analytics integrations. It’s available in clients’ Experience Cloud accounts right from the main menu:
It’s like the Data Connector storefront but for all Experience Cloud integrations:
Apart from providing a storefront, Data Connectors also made it easier for partners to make authenticated API connection to their clients’ Adobe Analytics accounts. Without the Data Connectors API new Adobe Analytics integrations require each of your clients to create a user for you in their Adobe Analytics instance and manually give it the permissions they want you to have. However, the Adobe Exchange now has an integration with the Adobe dev console makes it easier for partners and clients to get integrations set up with the correct access (see this article for more details).
Other than easier authentication and an improved storefront, if you have any feedback on other APIs or product features that would make Adobe Analytics integrations better, send them to the partner support team. We will be working with the Adobe product teams to continue to improve the integration points with our products.
