There are three ways to get access to an Adobe Campaign instance to build your integration on:
- Work with a customer to get access to their instance; this is what most partners do.
- Buy a Campaign license.
- Join our program at the Accelerate partner tier or higher, and you will have access to a sandbox instance of Campaign Classic (we are unable to provision Campaign Standard). For more information on our partnership tier benefits please visit our partner portal.
This method requires communicating with your customers who have an instance of Adobe Campaign and requesting from them a user and the correct permissions. Please be very careful with this method and work in sync with the customer to make sure your development does not interrupt their operations.
Owning a Campaign License
Having your own instance of Campaign will allow you to use it however you wish and you will have full access to all its features. The cost of owning a license is substantial and you will need to work with the Adobe sales team to get this license and to understand what expenses exist. Get in touch with the Adobe sales team.
Join the Exchange Program at a paid partnership tier
As an Accelerate or Premier partner we offer the benefit of access to a Campaign Classic instance, we share these instances with other partners so each partner only has access for a specified time. To find out more about the program tiers login to the Partner Portal and then take a look at our Program Benefits page, you can submit an upgrade request there if you are interested. If you are already an Accelerate or Premier partner please submit a ticket here and let the support team you would like to know next steps to get access to a Campaign Classic sandbox.
Deciding between integrating to Campaign Standard and / or Campaign Classic
Campaign Classic (ACC) and Campaign Standard (ACS) are two different software packages. They have the same end-goal of providing incredible experiences through omni-channel marketing campaigns despite this difference. Generally Campaign Classic is an on-premise solution while Campaign Standard is an online only solution. Refer to Adobe Campaign: Overview for Exchange partners for more information.
ACC is an on-premise solution that follows a server-client architecture. The client console will require a machine that runs Windows OS. If a partner wants to code to integrate to ACC and only has OSX machines available, a solution that generally works is to install a Windows virtual machine on their OSX machine and then install the Campaign client on that Windows virtual machine to connect to the Campaign sandbox.
ACS is a cloud based solution with a web user interface and a partner utilizes REST endpoints to integrate with it. So any operating system that allows for that technology will work as needed.
Since both systems are different softwares, they do not have the same features. This causes our partners to need to decide if they are going to build an integration to one or both solutions. This will depend entirely on your use cases and if the features are available to address them. Please refer to the feature comparison list below to help you in making this important decision.
