In the past, Adobe Experience Manager partners uploaded their Adobe Experience Manager connectors to AEM Package Share. This service is now deprecated and partners can no longer submit connectors to it. There are now two options for partners: they can choose to host their AEM connectors in their own repositories and have the integrations listed on the Adobe Exchange, or they can submit their connectors to the new Adobe Software Distribution service. (Partners that choose to list their connectors on the Adobe Software Distribution service are still encouraged to also create a listing on the Exchange since it is Adobe's general integration marketplace and is a great way for customers to discover your integration. See this article for details on how to create a listing on the Exchange.)
Software Distribution replaces the download platforms Package Share for AEM and Neolane for Adobe Campaign to provide a more efficient experience for Adobe customers to find and download software packages. Software distribution is built with AEM Assets Cloud Service and Asset Share Commons. As such, it natively makes use of all deployment and environmental management capabilities in Cloud Manager.
If you are interested in getting your package on Software Distribution then you will need to open a ticket and provide the following information in that ticket:
- Provide a demo of the connector (check out this example of what a typical demo looks like).
- Provide a clear description of the features of the connector.
- Provide an End User License Agreement
- The binary artifact - usually a CRX Package. Please note that the maximum attachment size is 50 MB so if your package exceeds 50 MB you'll need to work out a different way of transferring it to the reviewer.
Each of these items is mandatory.
Our AEM review team will review the materials you provide and test your connector to ensure that it meets the quality standards necessary for inclusion on the Adobe Software Distribution service. The review time varies depending on the number of reviews in the queue and the partner level but is generally 2 weeks for our Silver partners. After the review is completed, if your packages passes review, it will be added to the Adobe Software Distribution service and you will be notified via the ticket. If the package does not initially pass the review, the reviewer will contact you via the ticket and let you know what the problems are. If there are major problems that might take substantial time to resolve, the reviewer may decide to close the ticket and you will need to submit a new ticket after you've completed the changes.
